MEET THE OWNERS

Jax Diner owners Mike & Mackie Angell are no strangers to the restaurant industry. The couple met working for a local catering company in what they would refer to as a classic “chef falls for waitress” story. They have since gotten married, and started their family, happily naming the diner after their son Jax. Chef Mike has decades of experience working in kitchens, and is elated to chase his lifelong dream of opening a restaurant. While serving unapologetically delicious food is the main goal at Jax Diner, the Angells also care deeply for their community. They are lifelong Rhode Island residents looking forward to serving their local East Bay patrons and beyond alongside their staff.
